If you’ve encountered issues with the CANVID not appearing after you've launched the app, we've got a work around for you! This typically happens when using the app remotely through things like a Shadow PC or remote desktop tools (e.g., TeamViewer, RustDesk, AnyDesk).

Why Does This Happen?

By default, CANVID hides itself from screen capture to prevent accidental recording of its own user interface. While this is great for privacy and ensures your recording is clean from distractions, it can sometimes cause the app to disappear from remote desktop software or even when taking screenshots on your local machine.

The Solution: A Hidden Hotkey

While not a perfect solution, we do have a temporary option for now. You can use a hidden hotkey: CTRL+Shift+O to force Canvid to show.

Make sure you have the CANVID app focused first when using the hotkey. You can do this by clicking the Canvid app icon in the task bar. Doing this will will disable Canvid’s window content protection and the app will appear on your screen.

Keep in Mind 🧠

If you've used the Ctrl + Shift + O hotkey to display the CANVID app, the capture bar controls will also show up on the recording when using display capture (this won't affect Window capture)

We’re actively working on a better solution, so stay tuned for updates! 🚀
