CANVID Editor: Sidebar Tabs

The CANVID Editor Sidebar Tabs houses essential tools that transform your screen recordings into professional-grade, aesthetically pleasing videos.

The Background sidebar tab allows you to customize your screen recordings by adjusting the background and shape.

Types of Background

1. Color
   • Use a solid color as your background.
   • Adjust the slider or use the dropper tool to pick your desired color.
   • You can specify the color in RGB, HSL, and Hex formats for accuracy.
2. Wallpaper
   • Choose from high-quality backgrounds provided by Canvid or select ones from Windows.
   • Adjust the Background blur slider to control blur intensity.
3. Gradient
   • Combine two colors into a gradient background.
   • Choose from Gradient Presets or specify colors in RGB, HSL, and Hex formats.
4. Image
   • Upload your own image (must be 10 MB or less).

Background Shape

• Padding: Adjust the padding to show more background and shrink the screen area.
• Rounded Corners: Make the edges of your screen area rounder.
• Shadows: Add a drop shadow effect under your screen area.

Use the Cursor Sidebar Tab to customize cursor properties for your content.

• Hide Cursor: Make the cursor invisible in your final video.
• Cursor Size: Adjust the slider to change cursor size.
• Cursor Style:
  • Default: Default Canvid-style cursor.
  • Mac: Black Mac-style cursor.
  • Circle: Choose this cursor to cover larger areas of interest.
• Cursor Movement Smoothing: Keep this enabled for smooth cursor movement.
• Cursor Movement Animation Style:
  • Choose from different animation styles (Molasses, Default, Gentle, Stiff).
  • Personalize animation style by adjusting tension and friction sliders.

Use the Camera Sidebar Tab to modify webcam properties, including CANVID's Camera AI Background Features.

Basic Camera controls

• Show Camera: Toggle to enable/disable the camera in your video.
• Camera Position: Change camera placement to avoid covering important content.
• Mirror Camera: Switch between regular and mirrored camera view.
• Camera Properties:
  • Roundness: Adjust webcam edge roundness.
  • Offset: Change webcam distance from the video edge.
  • Size: Affects webcam size when zoomed in/out.

Camera AI Background

This feature uses CANVID's next-generation AI algorithms to blur, replace, or remove your real-world background, with no greenscreen required.

The Generate Transcript feature automatically creates captions for your voice during recording. Note that this feature only works with microphone input and won’t capture spoken words from system audio.

Transcript Settings

• Mode:
  • Local: Runs the transcript offline on your system. It requires additional downloads initially but provides more accurate results than cloud-based transcription.
  • Cloud: Generates the transcript online via our servers. This option is faster but may sacrifice some accuracy.
• Language: Choose the language that matches your spoken content.

• Quality (Local only):
  • Choose between normal and high quality transcription.
    • Normal: Faster but less accurate.
    • High: Produces highly accurate transcripts with longer processing times.
• Prompt: Add prompts that describe the type of content you’re transcribing. This improves transcription quality and accuracy.

Generate Transcript Tab Properties:

• Show Captions: Toggle to show or hide captions from your video.

• Word Highlighting: Enable to emphasize individual words as they’re spoken in your video.

• Transcript: Displays the complete transcript.

• Re-Generate Transcript: Use this option to overwrite the current transcript. It takes you back to the “Generate Transcript” settings window.

Edit By Transcript:

To edit parts of the transcript, click a single word, or hold and drag over a phrase, then select Correct Text. Click Save when done.

Cut By Transcript:

Drag and highlight the wordm the transcript then select Cut. Doing so will bring you to the preview where you can make fine adjustments. Click Cut Selection when done.

Pro Tip:

You can skip the preview by holding shift before clicking Cut. Use this shortcut to make the cutting process shorter and more efficient.

Undo Changes:

To undo any changes you've made in the transcript, click the word/s that were cut, then select Restore Cut.

Use the Microphone sidebar tab to control features related to your audio input device

• Enable Microphone: Toggle to enable/disable microphone audio from your video.

• AI-Enhanced Voice Clarity: Enable to use CANVID's AI-driven noise reduction. It enhances voice quality by removing background noise.

Use the Zoom sidebar tab to change the animation style of your zooms.

• Available Animation Styles:
  • Molasses
  • Default
  • Gentle
  • Stiff
• Personalize Zoom Animation: Adjust tension and friction sliders to customize the zoom animation style.
