Recording Preview: Setting Up & Starting Your Recording

Learn how to use Canvid's Recording Preview. Reselect capture options, and customize select the camera and audio before starting your recordings.

Once you’ve selected your preferred capture option, you’ll be taken to the Recording Preview. This window provides a preview of the screen you’re about to capture.

Preparing Your Recording Session:

  • Reselect the Capture Option: You can switch to another capture option or select a different window. Alternatively you can click the back button at the lower-left corner.
  • Camera: Choose the webcam you want to use for your recording.
  • Microphone: Select the input device for your recording.
  • System Sound: Toggle this option to enable or disable system sound during recording.

Starting & Stopping the Recording:

Click the Record button at the bottom center of the Recording Preview window to start recording the screen.

Recording Bar:

CANVID's Recording Bar

A popup will appear on-screen as soon as you start recording. Don’t worry; it won’t appear in your final video. You can hold and drag the recording bar to place it anywhere you want.

Stopping the Recording:

When you’re finished recording your screen, click the Stop button in the recording bar. This action will take you to the Canvid Editor, where you can customize your video.

Canceling the Current Recording:

If you change your mind and want to start over, click the trash bin icon in the recording bar. This will bring you back to the Recording Selection window.
